London No 2

Hi Family, Friends, Davenanters and Bloggers,

My friend Sharon and I decided to go to Windsor today for a bit of sightseeing and shopping.  Neither of us had been to Windsor for many years and we were interested to see if it had changed. We parked the car in the main multi-story car park in the middle of the town which meant we were near the shopping centre, railway station, castle and river.

The beautifully designed shopping centre linked the old High Street with the railway station - spot Sharon in the red dress:

In the lovely old railway station there were lots of restaurants, retail shops and 'The Queen' steam engine.

On leaving the railway station we came face to face with Windsor Castle, one of the Queen's official residential homes.

It was extremely busy with tourists and holiday makers so we left the main area and went towards the river.

I seem to have seen a lot of Swans recently but the ones here at Windsor looked amazing on mass.

Feeling totally exhausted after all the walking we made our way back to a restaurant for lunch and passed this lovely view:

We noticed that Windsor was a lot busier and more built up and commercialised than we remembered it but it is still a stunningly beautiful and impressive place. We had a lovely day out and would like to do it again one day soon!

Thank you Sharon for a great day.
