Chichester No 1

On Monday afternoon I set off on yet another road trip to Chichester to meet my College friends. It has been almost forty years since Katie, Cass and myself were at Chichester, Teachers Training College, together in the 1970's and we thought it would be a nice idea to visit and remember old times.

We all met at the Ship Hotel in North Street, in the old part of the city, and settled in to our lovely room on the third floor, overlooking the old rooftops of the houses below.

On Tuesday morning we were up early, had a very good breakfast and then went to Bishop Otter College to meet Phil from the College Alumni. He gave us a brilliant tour of the campus and we proceeded to reminisce for about two and a half hours. We had a lovely time remembering where we lived, what we did and what everything use to look like. Some things, however, hadn't changed at all like the beautiful original buildings. We were very impressed with all the new facilities and courses the College now offers and how beautifully maintained it all was. 

From the first photo you can see that Bishop Otter is now The University of Chichester with just over five thousand students making it the third smallest University in the country.

After our visit we took a drive out to Bosham Harbour and had a very nice lunch in The Anchor Bleu.

We returned to Chichester and had afternoon tea in a lovely little tea shop called Amelie and then went back to the Hotel to prepare ourselves for our night out at the theatre.
