At 2.00 pm my other Spanish friend, Pilar, and I set off on our journey to Funtington for Paul and Polly's wedding. Pilar's son, Kenny, is the other Best Man at the wedding. We had a lovely journey down to Sussex as there was very little traffic on the road and the weather, believe it or not, was beautiful. We are just hoping that it can stay sunny and bright till the end of Saturday.
We arrived just after 5.00 pm and joined Anjelica and her other Spanish relatives at Pitlands Barns (see Funtington No 1). We quickly unpacked and then got ready to go out for dinner at 7 pm. Polly's parents, Richard and Julie, had invited twenty four people for dinner at their house in honour of Anjelica's 60th Birthday and to welcome Paul's Spanish family to England and to the wedding festivities. The 13 Spanish relatives and me were the first to arrive, then various members of Polly's family arrived and then Lucie (the Bridesmaid) arrived and then Kenny arrived. Where is Ben, I hear you cry? Well he is snowed under at work and will not be arriving until tomorrow. We had the most amazing meal in their garden shed that sat 24 people and that was heated by two radiators. It was some impressive garden shed!
Photo no 2 is the shed set out for 24 people, photo no 1 is Polly and her mother, Julie, photo no 3 is Richard, Polly's father with Kenny and Paul, photo no 4 is Lucie with Paul's father, Steve, photo no 5 is Paul's mother, Anjelica and photo no 6 is of lots of people talking very loudly in Spanish!
It was a wonderful evening and, once again, Richard and Julie were incredible hosts. With good food, good wine and good speeches a good time was had by all.

Very nice start to a lovely weekend I am sure!
ReplyDeleteNice photo of my daughter!!
Hi Linda, everything seems to be going so well and we are all having such a good time. The quality of my night photos above are not so good as my day photos. I must try to do something about that but, there again, Lucie always looks good!
