Ragdale Hall No 1

Hi Family, Friends, Davenanters and Bloggers

What a wonderful day to start my Gap Year. The weather today has been glorious - bright blue sky and sunshine - hooray. Rita and I left London this morning and headed for Ragdale Hall in Leicestershire and, apart from taking the wrong direction at the end of her road, we had an excellent journey that took just over two hours.

On our arrival at the Health Hydro we were greeted by a team of staff who helped to settle us in quickly. A porter took our bags from the car at the main entrance and then parked the car for us - what luxury! After afternoon tea we were given a guided tour, a schedule of our treatments and a list of classes and then we were let loose to do whatever we wanted - dressed in the obligatory white towelling dressing gowns.

After we unpacked we headed for the main swimming pool and did our twenty lengths and then spent some time under the water jets that massaged our shoulders, back and feet - already beginning to shrivel up. After that we went into the Hydro Centre where we went into the Scent Room and the Thought Room for some serious relaxation - how totally wonderful. At dusk we swam outside in this magical hot pool that was lit with multi coloured lights that enhanced the mood.

We have just finished a very healthy and delicious three course evening meal. I had Sea Bass and Rita had Duck for main course and it was all served in an oak panelled dining room with very attentive staff.

We are well and truly settled in and are looking forward to our treatments tomorrow. I will take some photographs tomorrow for you all to see what it looks like.

  4. Seven o'clock in the morning - are you mad? Missing Wales so much that I have just finalised details of a holiday there in August. Will blog about it soon.
